220 players and supporters were in attendance for the annual Hyack Awards Banquet at Roma Hall to celebrate the achievements of the Hyacks.

HYACKS COME THROUGH IN SEASON FINALE

In one of the most thrilling games in the history of the program, the Varsity Hyacks came through with a 21-14 win over West Van on Friday night, to advance to the AAA provincial playoffs. Jonathan Lopez, Makoto Brennan and
Jeremy Wilson combined for the game (and season) saving tackle in the final minute. Kevin Sabau, Tommy Robertson and Jeremy Wilson scored for the Hyacks.
With the win New West earns a playoff berth for the 5th straight season. They will play Centennial on Saturday, Nov 12th at 5 pm at BC Place stadium. For tickets contact Marilyn at mdavis@sd40.bc.ca.
CONGRATS TO CONFERENCE ALL-STARS

Jonathan Lopez was named to the AAA Western Conference all-star team. Lopez returned to the Hyacks lineup 4 games ago, playing with a cast on his hand. He still managed to finish 2nd on the team in tackles, including a game-high 11 in Friday's big win over West Van.
Jeremy Wilson and Makoto Brennen were honorable mentions. Brennen was the team's leading tackler this season while Wilson was the team leader in receptions and sacks.
HYACKS WIN LEAGUE OPENER

Aldrin Asuncion became the 6th Hyack ever to break the 200 yard mark (221) as he led New West to a 33-26 win over Carson Graham in the league opener for both teams. Gr 10 QB Tommy Robertson scored 3 rushing TDs
and added an interception for the Hyacks who are now 1-0 in league play (3-2 overall). Defensively Jordan Chin (10 tackles), Jonathan He (6 tackles, 1 sack) and Jeremy Wilson (6 tackles) also stood out.
HYACKS WIN ON HOMECOMING

The Hyacks improved to 2-1 against BC teams with a 27-9 win over Mt Boucherie in the Homecoming game on Friday night. Aldrin Asuncion rushed for 137 yards and 2 TDs.
Prime Time Sports Player of the Game, Tommy Robertson, rushed for 1 TD and passed to Kevin Sabau for another. Jordan Chin led the defense with 9 tackles and 2 sacks,
as New West is now 6-1 all-time on Homecoming. There was another big crowd on hand and plenty of alumni support. Thanks to Jayne Adetola for all her efforts in organizing the alumni function.
HYACKS KEEP KUSHNIR BOOT

Touchdowns by Regan Eberding and Jonathan Lopez helped propel the Hyacks to 16-13 win on Friday against South Delta in the Kushnir Boot game.
Lopez also added an interception and earned the Prime Time Sports Player of the Game. Jonathan He was named the Burger Haven Lineman of the Game.
Aldrin Asuncion eclipsed the 100 yard mark for the first time as a Hyack. New West improves to 1-1 and plays at Terry Fox next Friday night.
HYACKS HIT CALIFORNIA

A group of close to 80 Hyacks players, coaches and managers are on their way to California.
The team will have a weeks worth of fun at Disneyland, Six Flags, a USC game, and of course practices all week and games against
Citrus Valley High School on Friday, Sept 2nd. Please take a look at the
