The new turf field will be ready, as will the Hyacks, for the return of high school football action to Mercer Stadium this Friday night. The Hyacks will also debut their brand new uniforms, as they take on Notre Dame High School from Calgary. The Pride is currently ranked #3 in Alberta while the Hyacks are ranked #3 in BC. The game will also be broadcast live on Sportscanada.tv.
Last Friday night, the Hyacks fell 40-24 at Scappoose, Oregon. There were some bright spots however, including Trew Dancey who paced the way for the Hyacks with 124 yards rushing and 1 TD. Receivers Ben Tjernagel and Shane Belsher combined for 13 receptions for 136 yards, with Tjernagel also adding 7 tackles and a 53 yard interception return for a TD.
