  • 2 min read

Despite a rainy night, it was another outstanding night at Mercer Stadium as Homecoming 2016 presented by Key West Ford was a big success. A crowd well in access of 1500 watched the Hyacks defeat Carson Graham 51-0. The event also included the Save on Foods Family Fun Zone and Pre-game Party, CTV Sports was also in attendance. NWSS band did a fantastic job entertaining those in attendance, and finally, Andrew Thind was this year’s winner of a pre-owned Ford Focus in our raffle, courtesy of Key West Ford.

Hyacks Football would like to thank our presenting sponsor Key West Ford, along with media sponsors the New Westminster Record, CTV and Virgin Radio 94.5 FM, for their continued support of Homecoming.

On the field, the Hyacks didn’t disappoint as they dominated Carson Graham, topping the 50-point mark for the 2nd consecutive game, 51-19 was the final score. Sammy Sidhu was named the Player of the Game with 147 yards and 2 TDs on just 7 carries. Lucas Sabau also had a strong game with 114 yards and a TD, while Finn Stark and Juan Cespedes scored their first ever TDs.
