Hyacks Defeat Top-Ranked Team on Seniors Night

It was a 2nd straight win over a highly ranked opponent, as the Hyacks defeated #1 ranked and defending Provincial Champion Mt Douglas, 45-19 at Mercer Stadium. The Hyacks exploded for 30 points in the 3rd quarter, beginning with Prento Durigon who blocked a punt that Liam Mackay recovered in the endzone for a TD. A long Andrew Delamereset up Kinsale Philip‘s 1 yd QB sneak, Lucas Sabau then scored his 2nd TD of the game on a 60 yard run, and finally Philip threw a 28 yd TD pass to Durigon to cap off the quarter. Defensively Connor Pattison stood out with his best game as a Hyack with 11 tackles, including 3 for loss and a pair of QB sacks. Isaiah James was named the Lineman of the Game.

It was a special night for 18 Hyack graduating players as the team honored them and their parents during the annual Seniors Night ceremony which took place following the game.
